FAQ

Do you have to have a student at CDO to lead a committee or be a board member?

No, we are a community nonprofit organization. Anyone can volunteer to lead a committee even if they don’t have a student at Canyon Del Oro High school.

Do I have to live in Oro Valley to lead a committee?

Nope! We have committee leads who live by the Tucson Mall, Marana, all over. You just have to want to keep the graduates and community safe on graduation night.

Does Project Grad get Federal, State, and School funding?

No we do not. We are dependent on local businesses and Community members to donate to support our organization.

What percentage of the graduating class normally attend Project Grad?

Our average attendance is 65%-75% of the graduating class.

Do I have to be a stay at home parent to volunteer?

Absolutely not. Most of our committee leads work full time, but are committed to the success and continuation of Project Grad.

Does Project Grad offer scholarships to cover the cost of tickets if a student can’t afford it?

Yes. We never want a graduate to not attend due to the cost of the ticket. They can go to their counselor and the counselor will determine if they qualify. They will then complete our scholarship form and submit it to Project Grad. We give away 5-6 scholarships a year! You can also donate specifically to a scholarship ticket!

Does the sales from tickets cover the cost of the event?

No. Ticket sales only cover about 40% of the cost to host the all night Project Grad event. We depend on local and corporate business for grants and donations as well as community donations to make up the other 60%.
